Ready to roll out and spot some feathered treasures? Join us for a relaxed and rewarding morning of birding at one of Texas’ hidden gems! Whether you know your warblers from your wrens or you’re still calling them all “little brown birds,” this trip is for you.

What’s the plan?

We’ll be birding caravan-style—which means minimal walking and maximum bird-spotting from the comfort of our vehicles with stops at all the best locations. Yes, we’ll be birdwatching like pros… with air conditioning nearby.

I’ll be easy to spot at the check-in station—look for the white F150, the one that’s not honking at birds.

Important Stuff:

Permit Required: You’ll need a Limited Public Use Permit ($12). You can pick one up anywhere they sell hunting/fishing licenses, or grab it online and print it out ahead of time.

Search for “Limited Public Use Permit” when ordering.
No facilities. That’s code for no bathrooms. So plan like a scout—come prepared with water, insect spray, snacks, and anything else you might need for about three hours of birdy bliss.
New birders welcome! No experience necessary. No judgment either. Just come ready to enjoy nature, learn a thing or two, and maybe meet some fellow bird nerds.
